ANNOUNCEMENT: Soul Train problems

Apologies to anyone who tried to listen to the first Soul Train on Wyke FM this weekend. For some, as yet unknown, reason the second hour of this weeks show was broadcast twice, from 6pm till 7pm and again from 7pm till 8pm. I'm trying to find out what the problem was, and hopefully all will be fine for next week's programme. The first hour of the show will go into the archives, maybe never to be heard. Or perhaps it will be used as bonus tracks on a forthcoming Grooveline album. Who knows?!

Additionally, after the special shows, and into the second year, I will start an intensive promotional campaign for the show, to try and spread the word further. PREVIEW: Grooveline's Soul Train, Show 1, 106.8 Wyke FM, 28 August 05 1800-2000

* Music from Randy Crawford, Yvonne Elliman, Mica Paris, The Commodores, Earth Wind & Fire, Patrice Rushen and many more!

* Track of the Week: We had to wait four years for new material from Jamiroquai, but when it came the music made up for the wait. Once of the finest Jamiroquai tracks ever, in my opinion, comes from that album - Seven Days In Sunny June, this weeks TOTW.

* Featured Artist: One of the best things about the music industry is that, once laid down onto tape or disc, the sound can be with us forever. So when an artist is taken away from us, their legacy lasts forever. Which allows us to feature the irrplaceable Luther Vandross as this weeks featured artists. You'll hear three tracks back-to-back from his fantastic back catalogue.

* Plus soul music news, and information relevant to Kingston-upon-Hull.

* Track of the Week: Taken from his 1987 album Solid Ground, this week's TOTW is from ex-EWF man Ronnie Laws, called Heavy On Easy.

* Grooveline Timeline: If you are any older than 35, that you will hate me for saying that this week's timeline looks at the year I was born: 1983! Music from D Train, Tom Browne and M'Tume gives us a reminder of what I was listening to in the first months of my life ;-)

* News on this week's Frank McComb and Kaldera gigs, both of which I attended, plus information on ANOTHER forthcoming Incognito gig (looks like we have two in October), details of the special Grooveline shows coming up, plus news on how you can spend a whole week with Earth Wind & Fire.
