ANNOUNCEMENT: Soul/funk band Kaldera special guest on Grooveline, March 1st, 2pm

Berkshire based soul and funk band Kaldera are special guests on Grooveline for Show 24, on March 1st. Fresh out of Incognito's home studio "The Blue Room", the drummer and bassist will join me in the studio for a chat, plus you'll hear some of their latest tracks. The guys will also play us some of the tracks from their collection which have influenced their own music, and just damn good tracks that they like!

As it is a live show, the phone lines will be open on 0118 967 5090. You can also text "Blast" then your message to 83648, and email via the website - www.blast1386.com

ANNOUNCEMENT: Grooveline next week

Next week's Grooveline won't take the usual format, and will not be a recent show. Due to other committments (being taken hostage and shot, long story!) I have not been able to prepare or record a new show for next week. Therefore, in it's place will be a backup show, recorded for such purposes, which was put together in October of last year. As a result, a playlist will not be available for this show.

Grooveline will return live a week later (1 Mar) with a special show.

PREVIEW: Show 23, Blast 1386, 15 Feb 05 1400-1600, repeated 21 Feb 05 0000-0200

* Music from Eighties Ladies, Hi Gloss, Eric Benet, Janet Jackson, Patrice Rushen, Kevin Whalum and many more!

* Track of the week: An absolute classic this week, a track which always makes me imagine I'm in a hot, packed soul club in the mid 80's (even though I was about 3 years old!). Thelma Houston - You Used To Hold Me To Tight is this weeks superb track of the week.

* Grooveline A to Z: "N" - Clutching at straws with this one this week, not many artists beginning with N that I could think off. Thanks to my girlfriend for suggesting Nuyorican Soul, this weeks feature artists. Three tracks back-to-back from the guys from Masters At Work (with Roy Ayers thrown in for good measure!), along with a short biography.

* News, features and views from the world of soul music, and the latest in real soulful house music.

This week's show is live on the Tuesday. Next week's Grooveline will also be live on the Tuesday. Requests and messages can be sent via the Blast 1386 website or by calling 0118 967 5090 / +44 118 967 5090, or simply by leaving a comment on this website. Text: BLAST + your message to 83248

ANNOUNCEMENT: More broadcasting problems

Due to a seemingly corrupt audio file, the first hour of the Sunday night repeat of Show 22 was plagued with skipping audio throughout, making for some rather amusing listening. This may also have been the cause of the problems playing the same file yesterday. Again, apologies for any disappointment.

Technology will be the end of us all. You heard it here first.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Technical problems on Saturday

The special repeat on Saturday didn't go quite as planned. Due to human error the first hour of the show was not broadcast. Instead, listeners were treated to wall-to-wall jingles and stings, plus the odd news jingle thrown in for good measure!

The second hour of the show was broadcast as planned.

Apolgies for any disappointment, or brainwashing people into murmering "This is Blast 1386, Today's Hits and Yesterdays Favourites" in their sleep tonight through overexposure.

The regularly scheduled repeat of the show should go ahead as planned on Sunday night at midnight (UK time).

ANNOUNCEMENT: Special Grooveline repeat

It's just been announced that this week's edition of Grooveline (Show 22) will be given a special extra repeat this Saturday 12th February 2005 between 1pm and 3pm UK time, on Blast 1386. The Sunday night repeat, the third broadcast of the show, will also go ahead as normal this week.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Website anomoly

I've just noticed a problem with this website. Whenever someone leaves a comment, it fails to be seen. This is due to the way I have modified the code, somewhat foolishly! As the comment text is black, and the background is black, the text cannot be read. I will round to sorting this out as soon as I get the chance.

If someone could remind me in a couple of days, that'd be great!
