ANNOUNCEMENT: Kaldera to co-host show
As mentioned towards the end of the last show, Lee and Tiki will once again be joining me in the studio on the next show, broadcasting live at 2pm on Friday 1st July 2005. We'll catch up with the latest news from their band Kaldera, and they'll be sure to bring along some more fantastic music to be played on the show. Additionally, I'll have another UK radio exclusive to play, and I'll have a preview of the forthcoming B Live festival in Clapham Common, which sees Jamiroquai and the Brand New Heavies perform full sets, and great DJ's including Joey Negro, CJ Mackintosh, Mark Doyle, Norman Jay and loads more.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Grooveline moves from Tuesday to Friday
As part of a new strand of programmes on Blast 1386's summer schedule, Grooveline will be moving from it's current Tuesday afternoon slot to Friday afternoon. The time remains 2pm until 4pm, and the Sunday night repeat is unaffected. The last Tuesday show will be 21st June 2005, and the next show will be broadcast on Friday 1st July 2005, and every Friday thereafter. Incidentally, this will be the last *live* broadcast of Grooveline for at least four months, due to a change in my own working hours. Through the summer, I will actually be recording the show over two mornings, between 7 and 8am, to be broadcast two days later. I do prefer to do shows live, and I know some of you prefer to hear the show live, but I hope the pre-recorded shows (and the fact that I'll always be half-asleep!) won't affect your enjoyment of the programme.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Stephen Howie is Web Radio Award Winner
It was announced on June 1st that I won the Web Radio Award for Best Funk DJ, in the Spring 2005 results. Additionally, Blast 1386 won the very competitive "Best College Station", and other Blast DJ's were also winners in other categories. I would like to thank the listeners to Grooveline for voting for me. Although a small award, its things like this which make the whole thing worthwile. Plus, it will raise the profile of the show. The first of a four part series, called Soul Train, will be broadcast on 106.6 Armada FM this weekend. Recorded in the studios of Blast 1386 in Reading, Grooveline's Soul Train will be a journey through classic and modern soul, stopping at motown and northern soul on the way.
