ANNOUNCEMENT: Special editon of Soul Identity

I've been asked to fill in for Dave Borrow on Soul Identity this week. However, I can't do a live show on Saturday due to work commitments, so the show will be pre-recorded.

Catch me on Soul Identity on Saturday 1pm till 4pm. The playlist of the show will appear here on Sunday.

This week's Grooveline will go out as normal on Sunday night at midnight.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Grooveline technical problem

After talking to staff at Blast 1386, it appears Grooveline wasn't broadcast yesterday due to a technical problem with the playout system. The cause of this problem isn't know, and probably won't ever be known.

Hopefully, all should be well for the "repeat" of the show on Sunday night. Apologies again.

ANNOUNCEMENT: No Grooveline broadcast today?

It's been brought to my attention that this Tuesday's edition of Grooveline, which has been recorded in advance, was not broadcast on Blast 1386 this afternoon. I was given no advance warning of this, and I await an explanation from the management at the station. An explanation will be given here as soon as I have it.

Apologies for any disappointment - I know that some listeners go out of their way (even risk their jobs!) to listen to the show. All being well, this week's show should be repeated, as usual, on Sunday night at midnight.

Many thanks.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Grooveline listings in newspaper

As from Friday 15th October 2004 each broadcast of Grooveline will be listed in local newspaper the Reading Evening Post (and Reading Weekend Post) along with all other shows broadcast on Blast 1386. This will hopefully attract more listeners to the show, and to the station as a whole. The Blast 1386 listings, plus frequency information, are found side-by-side with the national networks, and larger scale local and regional radio stations as well as the daily TV listings.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Second radio station for Grooveline

After only five weeks on Blast 1386, it has been announced that Grooveline will be re-broadcast on a second UK radio station. Grooveline is returning to it's roots, and to the radio station it launched on almost seven years ago.

In the coming weeks, a re-broadcast of the two hour show will be heard on HBSA (Hospital Broadcasting Service Ayrshire) in the towns of Irvine and Kilmarnock, in North and East Ayrshire respectively. This follows negotiations with show presenter Stephen Howie, Blast 1386 station manager Bob Goertz and HBSA programme controller Stephen Graham. As part of the deal, custom made dual-branded jingles and idents are being produced by HBSA to be used throughout the show.

The launch date of the re-broadcast, and the timeslot have yet to be announced. More details on this site as soon as they are available!

PREVIEW: Show 5, Blast 1386, 12 Oct 04 2pm, repeated 18 Oct 04 12am

It's a little difficult to do a proper preview for the show as I will be planning it late tonight, and going straight to bed! As the show is live on Tuesday, it obviously hasn't pre-recorded in advance, otherwise there would have been plenty of time for me to give a proper preview!

Anyway, I CAN promise you good music. I'll be playing the new single from the Sunburst Band and hope to have The Brand New Heavies single Boogie as Track Of The Week. Featured Artist hasn't been decided yet!

In case you missed it last week, I'll once again be playing Show Me The Way, the first single from Earth Wind and Fire's forthcoming album Illuminated. Howard Hewitt singing with Audio Caviar, plus a request of Quincy Jones from a listener in the USA, music news and the relevant chart caps off what promises to be a great two hours of music.

The show is live on Tuesday, all in front of the webcam and repeated on Sunday night/Monday morning. Call in on 0118 967 5090, text in a message (I can't remember the number!) or email via the website at www.blast1386.com

You can also join me Tuesday to Friday 8am till 10am this week doing Breakfast with Jen (and Phil on Friday).

ANNOUNCEMENT: UK exclusive - New Earth Wind and Fire tracks

On the live show this Tuesday (tomorrow) I will be playing two new Earth Wind and Fire tracks for the first time on UK radio. This would have possibly been a world exclusive, hadn't a couple of German radio stations got there first!

Both tracks, Elevated and Show Me The Way, will be Tuesday's tracks of the week. They will also feature on the regular Monday morning show after this coming weekend. These tracks are being played around four months before their official street release.

Defintely something to tune in for. See the previous message for times of the show.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Grooveline now twice a week!

At rather short notice, I was told this morning during the Breakfast show with Jen that Grooveline has been given another slot on Blast 1386. Now Grooveline will be heard at the following times:

Tuesday 1400 till 1600 UK Time (First airing)
and
Monday 0000 till 0200 UK Time (Repeat airing)

The Tuesday show will be live occasionally, and will be repeated in its entirety on the Sunday night/Morning morning slot. Otherwise the same pre-recorded show will be played on both slots.

This week, tomorrow, the Tuesday show will be live and I will be accepting calls and messages throughout the show. Please visit www.blast1386.com for contact details.
