PREVIEW: Show 118, Blast 1386, 29 December 06 1400-1600, repeated 1 January 07 0000-0200

2006 has been another great year for the music that we love. It's also been another big year for Grooveline.

Musically, we had some incredible new albums, including yet another new album from one of the hardest working bands in soul and jazz - Incognito. Also, great new pieces of work from Omar, Amp Fiddler, Frank McComb, Talc, Jocelyn Brown and countless others.

As far as the show is concerned, we continued on Blast 1386 through a year that many thought would see the closure, or scaling down of the station. But thanks to the dedication of the staff there, particularly Hazel McMillan, the station continues, the presenters help keep the cogs turning, and the listeners, like you, continue their loyal support.

Grooveline also launched on Island FM in Greece, with all thanks going to the guy who brought me to Blast 1386 in the first place - Bobby Gee.

And more recently, Grooveline's online presence has expanded greatly with the new website and weekly podcast, with all thanks there going to the webmaster Dustin Soper.

Thanks to all, as always, for your support and for loving the music in the way that you do. If it wasn't for positive, uplifting music, who would we be? What would we be?

For the last show of 2006, I'll be counting down the Grooveline Top 20 of 2006's releases. I'm giving nothing away, but I can assure you that every single track is of the highest quality.
